MuscChamp delivers an exquisite pec claw. Precise application to the nerve center in the middle of pit with his grip of granite. Screamingly delicious.
The Great Kabuki used both hands to apply his armpit claw on Ted Oates. Both thumbs digging into Oates' armpit with the fingers of Kabuki's left hand digging into the pecs and the fingers of his right hand digging into the lats.
Yes, the camera zoomed in at this point. Oates actually sinks to his knees as Kabuki applies his right hand. I've attached the full video. The pictured claw sequence begins about 5:35, although Kabuki uses the claw a few times earlier in the match.
thanks for sharing, Ted Oates is a stud! I love the angle of "asian heels using the claw hold on good guys" something that was used a lot back then. It's what got me started loving this type of wrestling!
Very effective and brutal claw hold! The pro wrestler Kamala used it very effectively against his muscular opponents. It devastated them. Kamala vs Tony Atlas on youtube is an amazing match were the pec/pit claw is used throughout the match.
The arm pit claw is one of my most vicious and painful holds I like to put on a wrestler. The deeper into the pit I dig and squeeze, the more pain he is in. I've wrestled for 25 years and used this hold nearly every match. Most guys fight like hell to get away from it and either succeed or tap out in less than 10 seconds. I've encountered one or two wrestlers where my arm pit claw had no effect on them. Either they had a very high pain tolerance level or I wasn't applying it correctly. I'm based out of Seattle, Washington, and am open for challenges. Think you're tough enough to take my arm pit claw?
I use the armpit/pectoral claw all the time for a fast submission. If you dig in deep right where the pec meets the armpit, you can feel a muscle that is only a half inch wide but it runs the length of the pectoral. Squeeze that with all your strength and the guy thinks his arm is in spasms. It hurts like hell and he will tap out rather than take the pain. Works for me like a charm. I've even had the biggest, touhest, body punchers tap out to this within 1 or 2 seconds. If I telegraph it, they will turn into a vicious animal and find extra energy to fight it off, even if we are getting close to the fight's end.
All holds depend on the person applying them and their opponent's body type. Some work perfectly on one opponent, while with others it has little or no effect. That refers to conditioning and body type.
For instance, its easy to chock out someone with a long, skinny neck. Its a lot more difficulty when they have a short stocky neck. Someone 5'4 would be unlikely to put their 6'4 opponent in a full nelson, while the reverse would be easy to do. A lot is technique, but your opponent's body type also has a lot to do with it. Your body type was likely prone to that hold.
Umm, not exactly. I had my wrestling neighbor apply this hold on me once. He grabbed my arm pits with all his might and shoved me against the wall grunting and making grimacing faces. Having never seen the move before I just stood there completely baffled at what he was trying to achieve.
After a minute of him struggling and shifting he realized it was doing anything so he released the hold and just walked out. He could never submit me in a match he often took defeat very badly.
Granted, I felt the pinching, but zero paralysis and certainly no excruciating pain. I haven't had anyone do that since. Maybe he wasn't doing it rights?
It's SO not the obvious attack to make, quite rare, but BOY does it hurt.
I tried this with a guy in a 'give-and-take' bout, I applied it first and to my surprise/delight he screamed like a girl and offered his submission rapidly. Unfortunately as it was more a training / give-take match I had to let him do it back. Yes it really hurts! :)
Although unusual and less-used, consider adding it to your arsenal of submission attacks. It's effective, and often catches opponent off-guard as its unexpected.
Hello Rock, when I apply the armpit claw I control my victim with a wrist lock and a leg grapevine, limiting his motion. Then I just enjoy seeing him struggle in agony.

Too bad this is a close up and not a wide shot. Impossible to tell if the claw is being applied while sitting up or if its a lifted claw hold.
